Introducing EF Beta-Reading

What’s beta-reading, you ask?  All of You on Fanfiction.net already know (I hope you do, at least).  For those of you who don’t know, beta-reading is another name for proofreading.  Why it’s called beta-reading, I have no idea.  What I will say, is that it can be the difference between a great story and a merely good one, and also between a good one and one that makes you want to gouge your eyes out.  I also want to announce that EF now offers this service to fanfiction writers everywhere, regardless of if you are on Fanfiction.net or not.

Here’s how it works:  You send me your chapter or story in an email attachment.  I primarily accept documents in MS Word, Apple Pages, and Open Office, though I may be able to work with other formats, as well.  I’ll edit it, and provide suggestions and other comments.  Then I’ll return it to you via email attachment, and you can implement the changes that you agree with and disregard any you think are crazy.  There’s absolutely no charge if your work is fanfiction; there’s a per-page fee for original works not belonging to any fandom and for school/college essays and papers.  I won’t right your stories/papers for you; all I do is proofread them and offer advice.  And you retain all applicable rights to your work, of course.

That’s all there is to it!  Sound like something you might be interested in?
